| Welcome to the land of Rainbow Buddies. A land where we are all special and where we are all accepted - no matter how "different" we might be. That is really how Rainbow Buddies were born - out of love, hope and the belief that every single one of us has something to offer this world. Perhaps we're looking through rainbow-colored glasses to believe brightly-colored cartoon children can make a difference in this world of harsh realities - but for us, Rainbow Buddies are a tribute to all of our children. A chance for us to show that we believe every single child has a purpose - a reason for being here on earth. |
|
| Rainbow Buddies come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Some are in wheelchairs, some use walkers, some have cochlear implants, some read with Braille and some of them show the effects of chemotherapy. And some are what is commonly perceived as "normal". But what makes Rainbow Buddies so special is that they are all accepting and tolerant of each other's differences. They are friends laughing and playing together who take the time to discover that they can learn from each other and grow into the kind of adults we all hope we can be. They are full of hope and faith that no matter what the circumstances, there is a reason to anticipate tomorrow and everything it will bring. |
|
| We hope you will join us in the Land of Rainbow Buddies and learn more about their triumphs and their struggles. We believe there is a little bit of that "rainbow" in all of us and that together we can color the world with hope and love. |

illustrates for children's educational publishing companies, as well as
religious publishing companies in the U.S. and Canada. Her works have
appeared in stores such as Shopko, Target and Wal-mart. Kathy began
illustrating "Rainbow Buddies" in 2001.
Kathy is the mother of two children and enjoys spending time with her
husband and family. Her family pets include two German shorthair
pointers and a Sheltie, which serves as her studio companion.
Kathy enjoys the outdoors, reading and illustrating "Rainbow Buddies".
Perhaps what makes Rainbow Buddies so special is that in a way Kathy
herself can relate to them. Kathy is a breast cancer survivor who went
through the trials of radiation and chemotherapy. She lost all of her
beautiful, blonde hair but still managed to have an upbeat attitude and
a positive outlook. Kathy knows what it’s like to look a little
“different” and to be scared about what tomorrow would bring. But with a
lot of faith and support, Kathy made it through this difficult period in
her life and wants to share the message of hope with others in similar
situations.
